Teleworking is the Answer

Please help create teleworking options across California.

Teleworking will benefit, cities, companies, and workers. Coupled with expanded broadband fiber highway, teleworking can create economic an geographic equity for all Californians.

Some of the benefits of teleworking include:

Telecommuting reduces greenhouse gas emissions and climate change

Telecommuting reduces traffic congestion

Telecommuting relieves over-burdened transit systems, many of which are at maximum capacity and can’t afford expansion

Telecommuting reduces city office zone congestion

Telecommuting reduces the need for costly office and parking expansion projects

Telecommuting reduces commute times, providing people more time and an improved quality of life and family time

Telecommuting saves workers and companies money

Telecommuting reduces fatigue and improves productivity of the 42% of the work force who are information workers

Telecommuting reduces housing demand in dense urban areas, possibly mitigating rent increases.  While a benefit to all, this would allow service workers to move closer to their jobs
